Overview
Labels help you segment documents by any custom field you need for your own workflow (client, project, tax category, team member, etc.) Automation rules ensure things get labeled the moment they land. That means less sorting, faster exports, and better audit prep.
What Are Labels?
Labels are custom tags you can assign to receipts, invoices, or documents inside Receiptor AI. Think of them like folders, categories, or flags, but smarter.
Automate Labeling with Rules
Go to ‘Rules’ > ‘All Rules’ > ‘Create Rule’
Follow the steps on how to create automations:
Trigger: select ‘When document is created’
Conditions: choose None (leave blank), or you can also add conditions if necessary, for example:
File Type: PDF vs. Image
Document Type: Receipt vs. Invoice
Merchant: Uber, AWS, Amazon, etc.
Action: select ‘Set Value → ‘Labels’ → ‘Set’ → Add your Label(s)

Name and Save the Rule
Common Questions

A: Yes. Labels are stackable.
Q: Can I use labels in exports?
